Chris (above, examing solar panels) has been asked by leading climate change campaigners to address the Campaign against Climate Change rally, taking place on Saturday. Chris joined Lynne Featherston, Jo Swinson, Ed Davey, Simon Hughes and (I think) Susan Kramer as well as hundreds of Lib Dem members on last year’s march.

There is more about the rally here.

The Cambridge Hustings November 22, 2007

Sal Brinton, PPC for Watford, has written a short report on the Cambridge hustings last night:

Last night the Cambridge Leadership hustings really buzzed. I chatted to loads of people on the way in, and in typical Liberal Democrat fashion, many of them said that they were really looking forward to hearing from both candidates, and were genuinely undecided. In a large hall, latecomers were struggling to find seats, and the questions fielded were thoughtful and
produced interesting answers.

I was struck how many people came out afterwards who talked to me about Chris’s really strong performance, and yet again it is his combination of great communication with the ideas that will take us forward. They also commented on the stylistic difference between the two, but I was very encouraged that Chris, yet again, is winning hearts and minds with his Liberal Revolution. On to St Albans tonight!

I’m going out for the day, so won’t be able to see them, but the first unofficial hustings of the campaign take place this afternoon in Newbury. If you’re there, or saw them on television, what did you think of them? How did Chris do? Will it affect how you vote in the election?

And as a side-note, someone from one of the press teams (either the party or one of the campaigns) is doing a good job. When I looked initially, this story was just one of the  ones on the sidebar, but now it’s the lead story on the main page. The same thing happened with Chris’s campaign launch on Wednesday which started as a smaller story, then became the lead, so well done to whoever (which, of course, could just be a sub-editor at BBC News) was responsible.
